Windhoek - A City for all seasons
This is the city where most safaris travelling through Namibia begin, and also the first point of entry in Namibia should you arrive by aeroplane.

Climate
Windhoek is situated in a semi-desert climatic region. Rainfall occurs mostly in the summer months of January to March, with an average rainfall of 370 mm per year.
Days are mostly warm with very hot days during the summer months of generally cool and bring a welcome relief from the hot day.
The winter months of June, July and August are generally mild and sunny with cloudless skies. Minimum temperature range from 5 - 18. Nights are usually cold although the temperature seldom drops below zero.
Driving out of Windhoek
From Windhoek it is a comfortable 3-hour drive to the Namib Desert and Skeleton Coast. The world-renowned Etosha Game Reserve is approximately 5 hours away by tarred road.
